Our Projects

Our main areas of focus are in the spaces of Coast Care, Estuary Care, Parks and Reserves, Infrastructure, Communications, Safety & Security. In each of these areas there are a number of different projects taking place.

If you have an interest, knowledge or skills to contribute towards any of these project areas please get in touch!

What we are working on

Pukehina Development Fund - consultation and next steps

Consultation on the proposed allocation of funds from the Pukehina Development Fund have now closed. We received 116 submissions and are now working with WBOPDC on designing the grants and allocation process. Key themes from the consultation showed strong support for paying off our Hall Loan, building the Walkway/Cycleway and a pump track at Midway Park and support for our community organisations and the facilitates they manage. There were some submitters who selected not to spend any of the funds. We will be designing a page in this section of our site to document the process and share updates as they come.

Coast CarePlanting, weeding, supporting in times of significant erosion events

Walkway/CyclewayWe've cleaned up the estuary frontage at Ororoa Reserve/Boat ramp & are ready to build the wooden walkway so we can all enjoy the recreational opportunities in all tides!
